Dude don't you understand that most people DON'T want to think of new builds? They just want to farm monsters and enjoy themselves, not have to think up new strategys and get frustrated with slower PvE.

well, we will see what "most" is. maby you are thionking of a minority of people that dont want to make nwe builds and you just dont realize its a minority. Also nuking was not the only way to kill fast in pve. minions, spike aoe like aftershock, use a snare, barrage, cyclone axe, mass conditions with epidemic, ect,ect,ect. All are perfectly viable and kill just as fast.

I hear a lot about how easy PvE is, and that its a joke. When they finally make it a bit more difficult, everyone complains.... Make up your minds. I support the patch, but it could be slightly tweaked. I hafn't actually gone online yet, but from what I hear, the first sniff of AoE sends them running. Maybe allow them to take X dmg, or X rounds of AoE dmg b4 running?

The majority of people are eles, monks and warriors. Practically all the eles were fire nukers who used the same build as everyone else. Would ALL of them be willing to adapt when they had it so well? I sure as hell wouldn't, i enjoyed the game while it was easy, who cares about the challenge, if you wanted a challenge there was PvP where you could think up new builds. Now a lot of people including myself are going to play PvP instead with premade chars xD

sigh im gonna break down and give the noobs a fire ele build.......
arcane echo + echo + fireball + echo + fireball
7 second recharge X3 fireballs, spike aoe they dont run away and it does more dps than shower AND is more viable in pvp
EDT: I could have taken the time to spell correctly, but the fact that a petition against something like ai improvemts is so absurd and the fact that the other guy mis spelled petition in his forum thread makes me not care.

Removing AoE from the game isn't a solution to AoE abuse.
This patch introduces a good idea into the game (making mobs smarter), but it executes that idea very poorly.

No it doesn't.
It executes it perfectly, the problem is farmers will hate it (and for good reasons). But then again, I farmed my fissure armors pre-nerf, so I couldn't care less. Nice change for PvE, great improvement in my opinion.

How does making *every* mob run away from *every* AoE spell and not come back until it's done - even if it means *giving up on attacking you* - not break the game?

PvE is easier for a reason, I dont care about AoE skills on pvp cause I just run around them, but jesus, atleast in pve they were alittle bit good.
I can say though this gets rid of the effectiveness of smiting almost comepletely in pve.

i been playing the new build for a few hours now, i like it.
my minions walked behind me up the turn, and i blocked em, guess what? they both ran out to the side and past me!
they never did that before, maybe i should bring my pet back out?
o and while we discuss such items, how about a petition for mixed skills?
in that way you get 1 mix skill per mix. preferrably 1 skill based on 1 skil the most , in that way you get the most variations.
say its a;
warrior / monk, you get a "Slashing lifetransfer of divinity"
Warrior /ele, you get a "granite mass displasement"
warrior /ranger you get "flying swordattack"
or a different main skill character:
Necro/mesmer you get a "Thieving Minion"
Necro/ranger you get a "muscle minion"
Necro/ele you get a "blood burst of hydro"
and just to nail the idea a different main char:
if your a Monk
Monk/ranger: you get a "follower of healt pet"
monk/elemental: you get a "element to healt"
Monk/necro: You get a "smiting troll minion"

Also this a small change to the builds people will use, it does NOT affect people using the same build at all. As soon as someone finds a build and posts it(which they always do) people will use it.

Anet is really godamn stupid. Now that people cant farm many people are going to leave the game. This happned with every time they nerfed a skill, and nerfed UW farming. Theyre killing the game so fast no one will be around to buy chapter 2

Oh well if it stays like this I might go. Sure pvp is fun but I am not spending 20+ hours leveling my characters in pve. And to all the people that actually like it well if you like mass chaos go for it. I mean balthazars aura is now a 10 second enchant that makes you invulneralble to melee based opponents.
